Now living in the North East of Scotland, Anne studied at both Glasgow School of Art (BA in Ceramics) and Grays School of Art in Aberdeen (Hons in 3D Design).
In 1997 Anne recieved a Churchill Fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. Her travel fellowship took her to Japan where she developed her interest in Japanese ceramics, aesthetics and design. This brief introduction to Japan became the foundation of her approach to design and making.
She makes work for retail and exhibitions as well as commissions and collaborative projects. Attracted to the overlooked, under appreciated and quirky nature of everyday things her handmade work raises the profile of objects sometimes seen as mundane.
